1938.3.1: CAROLINA THORDÉN, homeport Brändö. Rederi Ab Suomi — Laivanvarustaja Oy Suomi. (Gustaf B. Thordén) Brändön huvilakaupunki. Cabins for 12 passangers. Built for Finland - USEC trading.
1940.12.21: CAROLINA THORDÉN, arrived at New York from Sweden. Onboard were 33 rescued crewmembers of Greek tanker DIONYSSIOS STATHATOS. Tanker had lost her rudder in the Atlantic on Dec. 11, 1940 and abandoned.
1941.3.26: CAROLINA THORDÉN, enroute Liinahamari - USA loaded with paper and pulp was attacked and bombed into fire off Tórshavn by two German aircrafts. One passanger was killed, the crew and 33 passangers were rescued. A group of these people continued to South America onboard Swedish TUNAHOLM.
1941.4.11: Swedish ship VENEZUELA arrived at Thorshavn for repairs and medical need after being bombed by German airplanes. Onboard was taken eight Finnish passengers of CAROLINA THORDÉN. On April 14th VENEZUELA sailed from Thorshavn towards Rio de Janeiro. On 17th April German submarine U-123 torpedoed VENEZUELA with loss of all 49 persons onboard. Only one empty liferaft was later observed floating by Finnish vessel FENIX, passing the area. The FENIX was bombed and sunk in the North Atlantic on June 9th with loss of one crewmember.
1942.4.8: CAROLINA THORDÉN, the burned hulk was towed to Scapa Flow and scuttled between Burray and South Ronaldsay islands to replace the blockship GONDOLIER that was sunk into deep water. 1948: the hulk was sold for demolishing.
