A trawler approached in the heavy seas and four of the crew tried to reach it in a lifeboat, but were drowned within sight of their companions. The remainder of the crew, believing themselves lost, began a drinking orgy, which culminated in a desperate fight in which one sailor was killed with a hammer. Later the trawler rescued the remainder of the crew, with the exception ot a stewardess, who died of exposure.
