1939.9.18: WALMA, left Viipuri bound for Ellesmereport with woodpulp cargo. 1939.9.23: German U-4 captured northwest of Göteborg in psn 58.15N 11.00E. The WALMA was exploded and sank at 15.40. The crew of 18 sailors abandoned to two lifeboats. The U-4 towed both lifeboats to Swedish coast off Gravarne village (Kungshamn), Sverige. No casualties. The master of WALMA received from kapitän of u-boat a receipt of the sinking.
