Embargo until compensation for damage was paid to the other ship's owners. 1934.6.1: GERTRUD, early morning in dense fog enroute Manchester Helsinki in ballast under command of captain R. Wallen stranded on Stroma Island in Langaton Point, Pentland Firth. The whole crew of 22 were rescued. Later in the afternoon the ship split in two and sunk in the evening.
