Rederi Ab Sally (Algot Johansson, Strandg. 7) Mariehamn. 1970.12.26 evening: enroute Freeport/Bahamas - Trondheim with product oil cargo broke in two behind the midship 600 nm east of Cape May in psn 38.48N / 60.58W. The forepart sank with six sailors. The other crew of 31 sailors were rescued by US Coast Guard Cutter ESCANABA (WHEC-64). The stern part sank December 30 in psn 39.55 N 58.35 W. The lost sailors in the midship were: Master Georg Andersson, chief officer Reino Tarkka, chief engineer Herbert Kalm, steward Gunnar Gustafsson, OS Winston Barrington, messboy Markku Mahlamäki.
