Brothers Kurt and Kaj Engblom from Nauvo founded Rederi Ab Engship 1973 when 1700 dwt ms UNDEN was acquired.

Before the UNDEN Engblom and Bryggman brothers acquired the YVONNE from Aslög Nylund and Rederibolaget Yvonne was founded. Fredrik and Ernst Bryggman sold their shares to Kaj and Kurt Engblom 1972. YVONNE was sold 1973, the UNDEN was acquired and Engship founded.

Later ships were (in alphabetical order) AIDEN, ANDEN, BORDEN, BRAVADEN, EDEN, ESTRADEN, FRAUDEN, GARDEN, HERALDEN, KLENODEN, NAJADEN, NORDEN, NORDEN (2), OUTOKUMPU, PASSADEN,  SERENADEN, SKANDEN,  SMARAGDEN, TRADEN, TRANSPARADEN, TRENDEN, WINDEN.

At the end of 1980 Gäddrag Rederi from Porvoo was acquired with it's only ship SVANÖ.

In the management sailed AILA, CHRISTINA, ENVIK, LAURA, LINDA, SOFIA

Following Kaj Engblom captain Bengt Engblom was working as CEO.

All the shares were sold 2006 to Rettig Group Ltd Bore.
