June 28th torpedoed by German submarine U-146 100 nm NW of Butt of Lewis. Three sailors were killed: 3rd engineer Yrjö Kousi, stoker Albert Karlsson and Argentinian trimmer Miguel Mas. In the morning British NORTHERN DUKE found one lifeboat with 18 people and in the afternoon another lifeboat with 18 people. The British capture crew of 10 sailors were in the boats.
