1903.4.8: LEO, homeport Helsinki. Finska Ångfartygs A/B, Helsinki. 1906.5.15: off Bordeaux collided with Italian barque ship TERESINA MIGNANO that lost 8 sailors and two Frech pilots. LEO was embargoed ten months in Bordeaux.
1915.7.9: enroute Philadelphia-Manchester loaded with general cargo torpedoed by German submarine U20 60 miles sw of Ireland, Tuskar Rock, near Coningbeg Lightvessel in psn 51.07 N 7.10 W. Explosion killed 11 sailors: 1st mate Viktor Rinne, 2 nd mate Herman Löfström, bosn Emil Eriksson, AB Victor Mattsson, AB Jarl Bäckman, AB Alex Yanusis (Greek), stoker Josef Ostrovskij, stoker Mikael Lydon, stewardess A. Gustafsson, cook Alma Hummi and messgirl Alina Saarinen. In lifeboat 13 sailors rowed to US barque NORMANDY. (U-20 gunfired the RHEA of the same company. All hands survived. U 20 also torpedoed the LUSITANIA, 1198 killed.)
