1937.2.13: RIGEL, homeport Helsinki. Suomen Höyrylaiva Oy — Finska Ångfartygs Ab Helsinki. 1940.2.3: In Mäntyluoto Sovjets air attack damaged badly, burned one week. Steamed to Stockholm for repairs (another source repaired by Turku Crichton-Vulcan). Completed in two months. 1944.10.28: enroute Mäntyluoto - Leningrad near Upinniemi off Porkkala mined and sank. Mine from German submarine U-242. The crew were saved to Upinniemi. Many injuries. 1960.8.2: G. Greifswald, Kiel acquired the wreck. Partly demolited by J.K. Koskinen, Helsinki. Wreck has been used as a target of underwater exploding exercises by Navy divers. Forepart still exists.
